We were referred to Proactive care by our GP on Friday 17th Feb - we received a Home visit today by Dr. Fabrowski and his colleagues Dr.Bob Levin. We are in our mid 80's and we are trying to remain independent, but it was most helpful to discuss the many issues that we are having to manage It is reassuring to know that our GP, Dr. Nigel Adams, has support from Proactive care in helping us to deal with our present situation. Adult care has received such bad press in recent months, but support is available for those who try to help themselves.

Dr Mark was a great listener and had many helpful suggestions to improve the situation for my Mum. He cared enough to unpick and acknowledge her difficulties and gave her time to talk about them, whilst keeping a focus on what we could do to move things forward, rathe than get bogged down in bad/sad things in the past. He offered services but also accepted that they were not always what was wanted -and did not try to persuade my Mum to go to day care centres , which she would hate! He gave Mum a mini medical MOT and discussed her medications, explaining what the intended goals were, whether they were still appropriate and adjusted them where necessary. He also took account of my needs as a carer. So he offered both practical, medical and social/emotional support that was much needed and gave us a link to social services rapid response team -although we are still waiting to hear from them.... The only suggestions for improvement would be to make this service more widely available. I had to make quite a determined effort and a whole afternoon of fruitless and frustrating phone calls to access this service.

It has been such a relief to find doctor Fabrowski. I wish he could be my regular doctor. Today in the out of hour centre he uncovered a number of medical things wrong with me which I have struggled with. My own surgery struggled with figuring it out too. He was kind and reassuring and gave me the treatment I needed without being judgemental about my lifestyle. He listened to me and I felt he really cared about my worries. Thankyou very much doctor Fabrowski.

I didn't know where to turn, felt really depressed, zero energy or enthusiasm for anything, with anxiety levels through the roof! Dr Fabrowski listened so patiently, asking pertinent questions. Never once making me feel rushed or an inconvenience that should be fobbed off with anti depressants. After sending me for various different blood tests, he found my B12 level was low and following a session of "loading doses", I feel human again! An amazing difference. That black cloud has gone, I have my enthusiasm for life back! Sunshine and exercise that I love and have energy for again, just helps to boost further my inner smile
